We went to Madrid by train from Valencia and stayed at Hotel Maria Elena Palace for our stay in this city (€150 per night). Doesn’t seem to have a website but this slow link helps
Certainly we went to the Prado and on the City Bus
In Madrid many restaurants do not open until 21.00. We went to two fabulous restaurants
Sobrino de Botin which claims to be the oldest restaurant in the world being founded in 1725. Their Menu is in the Madrid file.
Also El Amparo which we noted at the time was fantastic but have now found it has been closed.
