Mauritius

Unfortunately, we do not have a written history of this holiday but remember we stayed for the whole vacation at Legends Hotel at Grand Gaube which was some distance from the capital.  A beautiful hotel is known as a Honeymoon hotel (particularly in Ireland) and therefore many parties going on.  It also appeared to be a special holiday resort for wealthy and noisy Russians,

Our room was away from the main hotel near to the beach and very peaceful. Most of the holiday was spent within the vicinity of the hotel and our meals tended to be at the hotel because the food was excellent,   and there was a super beach bar and restaurant.

A lovely day was spent by Jo going out early in the morning on a boat  Dolphin searching.  It was Jo who spotted the first Dolphin and let the boatman know and he, unfortunately, phoned the other boats in the area who arrived to circle the dolphin and spoil what should have been a perfect and peaceful experience.

While there we attended a cookery class which was good fun, and have the aprons still

Since returning from this holiday we saw in the papers of the murder of an Irish Honeymooner in  January 2011 and the write up of the trial is well documented   The hotel has changed its name to LUX but is still in the top 10 honeymoon hotels
