Jo and Tony Wedding

Over a hectic period of 10 days Jo and Tony gave up their jobs, married and emigrated to Spain.

There was a party held at Walton on Thames the week before

Tony had been having reminder tennis lessons in Woking with a lovely guy called Tim, and when he met Jo she joined him playing indoor tennis with Tim and some friends. Tim happened to be a priest and we got engaged he managed to ‘borrow’ a church from a friend, and agreed to carry out the service, even though we were both divorced.

We did it properly and had the Banns read

The only disappointment was Tony’s daughter, Diana, was working in Peru and unable to attend. However she sent this

A date was agreed, 20th August 1999, invitations were sent out and a service agreed and printed. Then the beautiful bride made her way to the church to be given away by her two sons.

So with the bride arriving, on time of course, and the nervous bridegroom accompanied by his son waiting, the service was held and the register signed.

Phew.

Then the happy couple came out in the sunshine (and lived in the sunshine the rest of their lives) to meet the congregation and later drive off in a very smart Aston Martin.

Then the congregation and family had their photos taken

and with their friends

After which we went back to Jo’s house, in Grove Road, just five minutes away. Just after we arrived Diana rang from Peru which was a great and welcome surprise.

and later the family and some of the friends ate at a restaurant in Hampton Court, which was within walking distance.

The bride and groom then spent a honeymoon night at the beautiful Oatlands Park Hotel in Weybridge.
